About FRED
HUMANITARIAN
Humanitarian Efforts
My commitment to uplifting communities has been a driving force throughout my life. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with various nonprofit organizations to empower youth and individuals facing challenges such as literacy, substance abuse, and trauma.
In the 1990s, I founded Genensys, a transformative initiative that supported people of all ages by enhancing their academic skills and teaching practical job skills, including construction and painting. We aimed to equip individuals with the tools they needed to thrive and secure meaningful employment.
In 1994, I opened a group home for young men on probation, ages 12 to 17, focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration into society. This program was designed to guide these young individuals toward becoming productive members of their communities.
My passion for helping others extended to a project called “Miracle Men,” which provided homeless men with the support needed to regain their footing and develop essential job skills.

As a proud resident of Compton, California, I rose to become a Sheriff Deputy, where I led the youth department in the 1980s as part of our community outreach efforts. My journey continued as I ran for mayor and served as President of the Compton NAACP. After relocating to Inglewood, I took on the role of President of the Inglewood South Bay NAACP, where we work tirelessly to make a difference.
In partnership with the Inglewood NAACP and CBS’s The Young and the Restless, we proudly host an annual holiday event, providing toys to underprivileged children, ensuring that joy reaches every corner of our community during the festive season.
Together, we can create lasting change and empower those in need. Join me in making a difference!
Community Involvement
My dedication to community service extends beyond individual support; I strive to create sustainable opportunities for both children and adults in need. One of my initiatives includes establishing a marketplace where local businesses can showcase their products and services. This platform not only fosters economic growth but also strengthens our community by helping businesses thrive.
I’m also proud of my collaboration with Michelle Stafford and the cast of The Young and the Restless. During the challenging times of the COVID pandemic, Michelle spearheaded a toy drive that received recognition from the Inglewood NAACP. It all began in the summer of 2020 when production resumed after a shutdown that impacted Hollywood. Since then, we have worked together to distribute over $25,000 in toys to children, bringing joy and hope to families during difficult times.
By focusing on both individual empowerment and community support, I believe we can create a brighter future for everyone. Join me in making a difference!
